This is the progress window. You will see this window whenever ToadNews is processing news (either unbatching or expiring). The window's title will describe the operation being performed. Each moving bar gives you an idea of how much of the current operation has been completed.
ToadNews uses the same window for reporting progress during the processing of newsbatches, and expiring news.

If you take a good look at the first picture above, you'll notice that there are two buttons titled “Start”. The top-most button (when titled “Start”) will cause TN to start unbatching all the newsbatches in the batch folder. Likewise, clicking on second button will cause all newsgroups to be expired. If these buttons are titled “Stop”, it means that processing is taking place. Clicking the “Stop” button beside each progress bar makes ToadNews stop the operation associated with the bar.
Miscellaneous Notes
ToadNews does not have to be run continuously -- you can use the System 7.0's drag and drop features. Simply select a set of newsbatches in the Finder and drag it on top of the ToadNews program icon and ToadNews will run and process the file.
